    Beautiful Autumn morning today.
Covid and Flu injections this morning and no ill effect so far.

At the rate Usenet postings are dropping I don't think there will be
anyone around when NIN closes. Even the trolls are moving elsewhere.

I'm still here. And I had my Covid booster and flu jabs last Wednesday.

Mine are due on the 25th. The trolls are all on Facebook and the like, I reckon. There seem to be many, many more than there ever were in Usenet.

It said, those between 75 and 79, should have had an invite, but I don't remember one, so I've just rung my GP, who first suggested I wasn't
eligible, then worked out I'd had it last year, in September, and so
    didn't need it - it's a one-off jab.

I must have had it alongside something else, maybe the shingles jab, for

I had an invitation to have an RSV jab last year, so I looked up what
    RSV is:
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of coughs and colds.
RSV infections usually get better by themselves, but can sometimes be
serious for babies and older adults.

Further down the text it mentioned protection against bronchial problems
and I am considered extremely vulnerable to Covid because a heart
problem some years ago left me with some blood clots in the arteries in
my lungs. So having the jab was a no brainer, and I had the RSV jab
with my flu jab in September 2024.

I seem to remember that the other jab on offer in 2024 was the
pneumococcal one for protection against hepatitis.

I think that happened with my PSA test. I was never asked if I wanted
it, though I was having regular blood tests for other things. The next
thing I knew, I was told my PSA was high, and they wanted me to have an

Only now I see, they are deciding whether the invites for PSA checks,

They appear to have decided "not yet".

It seems a bit silly to me to restrict it to just a few people with a dodgy gene
first means they need to know they have a dodgy gene.
