We were tempted by the weather to book a few nights by the sea. https://BriMarg.co.uk/torquay

    Lovely photos Bri.

We are off to Southwold this Sunday, hoping the wather is a little cooler - but
    not too much cooler. ;-)

Did you take the steam train ride? The view from the carriage window as
it makes its way to Brixham is some very attractive scenery.

Southwold looks interesting, been to Yarmouth, Caister and Lowestoft
but never Southwold. Hope all goes well for you.

Not this time Jim, but we have done the Round Robin (coach, boat and
steam train) a couple of times and agree completely.
The last time must have been around ten years ago as granddaughter
with her dummy (pic 4) was just a baby then. :-)

Love Southwold and it is near enough us for trips any time, but daughter and husband ( and kids) love the place and just about every year have a few days there in a rented house and invite us along.

lasy tear was a cute cotttage with very awkward stairs and I wisted a knee - which was recovering if somewhat slowly though this week i sem to have done something to set it back ( mind you it hurts in different places this time!) so
I am hoping there are easier stairs this year!

    Sounds absolutely ideal, kat.
We occasionally share a break with daughter, husband and grandkids but
not as often as we'd like. The distance is a bit off putting too at
230 miles, I don't care for long drives these days.
We lunched with daughter in town today, most enjoyable.

Hope your knee problem clears before your seaside visit.

We have one daughter and family a couple of hours away, the other and hour and a
half ( son lives 10 minutes away) and the result is we have been reluctant to downsize as we neeed space for visitors! The 4 "away" granchildren wee here for
the last weekend ( plus one dog) while all their parents went to a wedding, and
the son and wife and 2 more joined us for a meal in the evening.

We do have another holiday arranged, in August, with all of them in one huge house in Kent, I have a birthday. 3 quarters of a century:-)

The Kent holiday sounds like a celebration to look forward to.
I'd love to be that age again, next year will be 20 years since
retirement at 65, the quickest 20 years of my life.
