    Oo, she was loving that!

Got a daughter and her family coming over with food - steak I gather, and salmon
for her ( she doesn't eat meat, but does eat fish) and me ( because I love fish
and mr kat is very fussy about it, so I don't get it as much as I would like.). --

Hope you enjoyed your meal, kat, ours went down very well indeed.
I love fish too, tomorrow is our salmon day then smoked mackerel on
Friday, though, like your end Marg isn't too keen on that.

I did enjoy! My daughter had had a BBQ with friends the day before, and her BIL
had provides a huge side of salmon. They brought leftovers which included a lot
of salmon, and she even left me some for tonight. She had sides already as well, theybrought some steak, sausages and a couple of burgers, and mr kat will

When my neighbours go on holiday I get asked to go into their house
twice a day and feed their two cats. They are fed at the same time in separate rooms*, because if they are not physically separated, each will
start on their own helping. One gobbles what is put down then goes to
the other one's food bowl (if I don't make it inaccessible by shutting
doors) and the other cat will just stand there and watch the greedy one
polish off everything left in the other bowl.

    * I prepare the two bowls on the worktop and take one in each hand. I
put the greedy cat's bowl close to its nose and then hold it further
away and at the same time put the other cat's bowl down and walk out of
the room holding the greedy cat's bowl at its nose level into the next
room where I put it down and shut the door as soon as that cat starts
eating. Then I watch the docile cat eat and when it has eaten its fill
I open the door to let greedy cat out. It immediately goes to the other
bowl to see if anything has been left.

    * I prepare the two bowls on the worktop and take one in each hand.-a I put the
greedy cat's bowl close to its nose and then hold it further away and at the same time put the other cat's bowl down and walk out of the room holding the greedy cat's bowl at its nose level into the next room where I put it down and
shut the door as soon as that cat starts eating.-a Then I watch the docile cat
eat and when it has eaten its fill I open the door to let greedy cat out.-a It
immediately goes to the other bowl to see if anything has been left.

With every cat I have had, apart from Ginger, there was always some left. they would come back to it maybe it would get all finished, any leftovers went out for the birds. But Ginger was a big cat, a hungry cat, who was a stray until he
decided to move into our house ( yes, he did, I noticed him inside just as I was
loading 3 children into the car for an afternoon out, and that was that) and from a while probably wondered where the next meal was coming from.

He never did get fat , just neeeded more food!

My dad had a similar adoption. He was at home, recovering from an
operation, and it was a sunny summer day so he had the door into the
back garden open. In walked a dappled black and white cat, looked at
dad and said MIOOW. Dad put down some food (we already had a cat so it
was readily available) and the cat wolfed it down. It then got onto an armchair, had a wash and went to sleep. It had obviously decided to stay.

Two days later it presented us with four kittens! It had obviously been looking for a safe place to deliver them.

    That is lovely!

Ginger had been around our garden, and those of neighbours, for some weeks. We realised he had been sleeping in the wheel arch of our car. and eating anything
thrown out for the birds - such as leftover cat food!

And after spending the afternoon shut in that was it. He decided to stay.;-) --
