Mornin' from a cool and blustery but dry, clear, bright and sunny
day here in South Yorkshire. Light mist earlier but now just BYT on an
all blue background. Temperature out there is 12.5C but feeling more
like 10C with the, up to 30 mph gusts from the ENE. Barometric pressure
is steady at 1023.1 mB with the RH showing as 69%.
Forecast is for it continue to be dry and clear throughout the
afternoon, evening and overnight. Temperature should peak at 17C, like
13C mid-afternoon and then gradually fall to an overnight low of 6C more
    like 4C.
Enjoy your day everyone and continue to keep yourselves safe and
    sound.
Mollie came to wake me around 07:00, so I went down to the kitchen
to get her breakfast. She went outside for 10 minutes or so, so I left
her to her own devices both indoors and outdoors and went back to my bed
for an hours lie in. Mollie is also now having her morning snooze on
    her own bed.
Not such a good week for me though. Annual blood test results back
on Monday. Not 100% and I have to have a repeat test on the Haemoglobin (sugar) next Wednesday. It's risen a little too much over the last 6
months. Looks like I may be cutting down on the Rolos, chocolate
eclairs and hot sweets for a period. Grrr!!! Then yesterday one of my galvanised clothes poles collapsed, well it was older than me, whilst
the clothes were drying up the jungle, and then my electric kettle
started leaking profusely. So a new kettle from Morrisons (u13) sorted
that. But then my newsagent gave me a free lottery ticket for Saturday. Presumably for my birthday present as I embark on my 85th year on
    Saturday. All digits crossed 't--
Heard messages are sweet but those Unheard are sweeter.

mr kat got told he was - just - pre diabetic a few weeks ago - he is now going to "classes" to tell him how to change. He started yesterday and came home full
ofinformation. Mostly things about food I had been saying for years. He was a bit shocked that the large glass of orange juice he had before he went was bad,
even though I have said so before. :-)

Years ago I learned that a banana to keep you going beause your blood test was at lunch time was not a good idea ( the repeat test was fine).

But one thing he said, instead of packets of crisps, have a packet of nuts. They have better fats.

Yes a daily packet of cheese and onion crips and glass of orange are a
couple of my "vices" but I do have 12 bananas a week. Rolos, Chocolate eclairs and caffeinate coffee and hot sweets are the ones I've really
been having more of in the last twelve months. So I'm cutting down on
    those from now on.

    Good afternoon from Somerset.
46F and 1020mb. Despite the bright sunshine there is a fairly strong NE
wind which is keeping the air temperature down. 46F is about 8C, a bit
below the forecast "feel like" of 12C. Hopefully it will warm up a bit
    more before it gets dark.

I had an annual blood test in February, and I was phoned afterwards to
say that my kidney function was a bit down on last year's and to find
out whether this is a downward pattern or just an occasional change of
values I should have a follow-up test, which I had on Thursday this week
and I am waiting for the outcome. Meanwhile, I had a routine hospital appointment the day before (Wednesday) because I am being monitored for pulmonary hypertension, and that included an ECG which showed
intermittent AF, and I was told that its existence could affect my
kidney function. I was prescribed another tablet to help control the
AF. Bodily problems do seem to have some less obvious range of
triggers. Perhaps your chocolate intake isn't as guilty as you imagine?

Happy Birthday, and good luck in the Lottery!

    Jim

Maybe not, but remember, I've been running by pacemaker for around 2
years now and still awaiting this year's biennial transthoracic-electrocardiogram which I should have had in January. Incidentally, my kidney function result in this year's blood test was
    within the normal range.
Happy Birthday, and good luck in the Lottenry!

Thanks, although I haven't yet plucked up the courage to check
Saturday's Lotto numbers yet. Couldn't stand the stress of a big win
    !!!!
