If only Nicholas Collin Paul de Glouce?ter had attended the correct school, he could doubtless have joined in the cock-waving
    competition as to who used the biggest computer at school ;
    without let or hindrance

Although there's probably no guesses as to who is going
to make sure they win that particular one, as well.

Instead he has had a post rejected as being off topic which contains
links to graphic photographs and accounts of the destruction
    in Gaza

    Was it rejected by uk.legal.moderated?

If so it is way off topic isn't it?

It's no more off topic than half of tbe posts in that particular

The main reasons why it was rejected by me are:

    a) Posting a URL without any commentary. The moderation guidelines say:
Posts which appear to quote copyright material (such as articles from
online newspapers or journals) may be rejected at the discretion of the moderators and are more likely to be acceptable if they quote as little copyright text as possible and add some original commentary and on-topic observations.

    b) Posting a URL which does not appear to be a mainstream media source,
which would oblige the moderators to read it carefully and check whether
it might defame any living person who might sue.

    Fair enough.

And while not wishing to appear unduly argumentative; as if .

But if it was potentially defamatory, which it could well have been, and been rejected on those grounds, then the link wouldn't have been publicly available.
    1

Thus saving the moderators from any possible legal action; which is why such text is normally suppressed.

While also denying anyone with rather too much time on their hands the opportunity to protest, that far more off topic material is being regularly passed.

A previous post by this poster was also rejected on presumably similar
grounds; except "off topic" was again used as the ostensible reason.

While as a follow up. it appears that another poster had access to a Pegasus. And there's no real topping that.
