This has just been rejected for 'abuse'. Can anyone tell me why please?

Are the moderators all now pathetically woke, soppingly wet, humourless jobsworths who think they need to do something/anything to justify their existence, or am I really a serious criminal?

OK, I was just extrapolating from my own experience. When possible I
prefer to not pay for things on a monthly basis.

Given the choice, I'd pay most utility bills quarterly, but I don't
think any of them allow that any more.

I still pay my Council Tax quarterly, using a work-around of making
three monthly payments the same day. But that's very much an exception.

Do you do it on Lady Day, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas as in
    days of yore?

I'm having some work done on the house, and it turns out my selected contractor is the only one whose quote included "50% up front, the
    rest
on completion". All the others wanted 100% up front.

Do those other professionals know you perhaps?

He's had numerous fall-outs with different professionals over the years
as he's freely admitted here, and I've commented that he's been really unlucky. Maybe, if other professionals know of that, they don't want to
be unlucky themselves, hence my query. That's all.

That's a very odd and scurrilous suspicion. I neither said nor implied
any such thing. In fact, I said very kindly and sympathetically that,
as regards professionals, and on his own admission here, he'd had the
most appalling, continuing and incredible bad luck over the past few
years, which might account for his distrust of them.

Roland Perry: All the others wanted 100% up front.

Norman Wells: Do those other professionals know you perhaps?

In fact, I said very kindly and sympathetically that, as regards professionals, and on his own admission here, he'd had the most appalling, continuing and incredible bad luck over the past few years, which might account for his distrust of them.

Except you chose to interpret the fact that all the others wanted
100% up front, as evidence *that they distrusted him*. As they knew him

Otherwise what possible connection could there possibly be between
the fact that all the others possibly knew Mr Perry, and the fact that
they all wanted 100% up front ?

So why mention their possibly knowing him, at all ?

Unless the two were connected ?

They're knowing him; and as a consequence their requiring 100% up front ?
