• Way too many songs in the old chart from 2007

Well, 103 actually, but some of them aren't very good.
Still, I wouldn't have picked this chart if I didn't like any of them.
At least one of these people has been attracting attention recently but
there are some you might not have thought about for 12 years, if at all.

Playlists are here. Even thought it's a relatively recent chart, the
Sonny J track isn't on Spotify (because of sample clearance maybe) and
neither is the Smashing Pumpkins one (I'm sure it used to be) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6weaqXb6gkwmxHVNGWwdez?si=6zJ4ETSKQfaNQqpd0GI2mw

But I used the non-rap version of The Way I Are!

But seriously, that is what I expected with the rap tracks, and indeed
the metal ones, but I thought you might have known more dance in this era.

Anyway, I know everyone wants to see the list of other versions.

    Chart dated: 22nd September 2007

I know I'm running a bit behind, but I thought I'd do this one anyway as
it won't take me long (owing to not knowing many of the songs) and I'm unexpectedly at a loose end this evening as a Zoom meeting I was due to
    attend has been rescheduled.

Anyway, despite its recency, I don't recall all that much of this. This
comes from the era when I was working for a specialist genre radio
station, and hence listening to our own output at work rather than
generic chart stuff. But, unlike other charts from earlier in the same
era, this was a couple of years after I'd got married and a year after
our first daughter was born. So, instead of playing computer games with
MTV on in the background, not only did I have better things to do with
my evenings but, in any case, if I'd turned the music up too loud and
woken the baby my wife would have shouted at me. Hence most of this
passed me by, other than the few occasions I was listening to
    chart-based radio in the car.

Having said that, I've seen two acts in this chart play live, two acts
in this chart play live as members of different acts, half an act in
this chart play live as a guest artist for another act, and an act
responsible for the underlying song in a remix play live in their own
right. And none of those are Cliff.

    1. (1) Sean Kingston Beautiful Girls

    Don't remember this.

    2. (2) Plain White Ts Hey There Delilah

Don't remember this from the time, but it's been on the Absolute Radio
playlist more recently so I am now familiar with it. Nice song.

    3. (3) Kanye West Stronger

    Don't remember this.

    4. (4) James Blunt 1973

Or this. So he wasn't a one-hit-wonder. Who'd have guessed, eh.

    5. (8) 50 Cent/Justin Timberlake/Timabaland Ayo Technology

    Another I don't remember.

    6. (6) Rihanna Shut Up And Drive

    As is this.

    7. (5) Girls Aloud Sexy! No No No...

    And, unsurprisingly, this.

    8. (7) Robyn with Kleerup With Every Heartbeat

I vaguely remember this, but I'm not sure why.

    9. (10) Timbaland ft Keri Hilson The Way I Are

    Don't remember this, though.

    10. (9) Scouting For Girls She's So Lovely

I definitely remember this from the time, though. One of the few songs
in this chart that I do remember.

    17. (15) Kate Nash Foundations

I also remember this. Good song.

    21. (23) Foo Fighters The Pretender

Another that I don't remember from the time, but has been an Absolute
    Radio staple since. Good song.

    23. (42) Phil Collins In The Air Tonight

I'm obviously familiar with this song, but I don't recall it charting in
2007. My guess is that it was chocolate related.

    33. (38) Peter Bjorn & John ft Victoria Bergsman Young Folks

I remember this, but not from hearing it on the radio or seeing it on
TV. I'd been at a festival that summer, and for some reason this was one
of the favourites (at least, I assume it was) of whoever was responsible
for doing the DJ sets in between acts on one of the stages.

    38. (NE) Hi_Tack Let's Dance

I suppose this was an obvious song for a dance remix. I don't remember
    this, though.

    44. (40) The Fray How To Save A Life

This is another of the few that I do remember from the time.

    45. (36) Athlete Hurricane

    As, oddly enough, is this.

    66. (56) Snow Patrol Chasing Cars

This, too, I remember very well from the time. Although, given that its
time was quite a long one, the time I remember it from may not have
    entirely coincided with this chart.

    70. (57) Arctic Monkeys Fluorescent Adolescent

Another that I don't recall from the time, but have heard since on
    Absolute Radio.

    84. (76) Kaiser Chiefs Ruby

I remember this from the time, although, again, I wasn't introduced to
it by radio or TV. Ruby, as well as being the title of this song, also
happens to be the name of a programming language, and, by coincidence,
we'd just implemented a project in it at work. So one of my colleagues,
who I presume had heard the song on the radio, came in to work one
morning and announced "Guys, we've got a theme tune" and played this to
us on an mp3 player. So for the next couple of weeks, until we got bored
with it, we played the song every day.

    98. (NE) Feist 1234

I remember this more from the advert.

100.(90) Foo Fighters Best Of You

And, finally, another that I remember more from later appearances on the Absolute Radio playlist than from the time.
