I suppose you could set up a VPN, lie you're in the UK,
and watch on iplayer. AGA says that works, at least.

    A VPN works. I don't own a physical version of any S16
stories so I started watching "The Ribos Operation" on the
BBC iPlayer yesterday afternoon... (I got to episode two
then my son and the grandkids arrived so that was the end of
    that.)

WHAT?? You didn't do your Grand-Fatherly duty and start
educating the Grand-Kids in "Doctor Who"??

They'd no more watch "Doctor Who" than Mrs Blueshirt would...
they do like "The Mandalorian" though... maybe because of baby
Yoda, I mean Grogu. So it's a start down the sci-fi road I
    suppose >
    What a waste of a visit!! ;-P

They brought cake for my birthday so it was okay...

Ah!! So Grand-Sprogs have a use, then!! ;-P

Daniel doesn't seem to want to invest in a VPN, which is fair
enough... so unless the BBC do a deal with ABC (Or A.N.Other
Australian TV channel) he won't be joining any of the "Doctor
Who" rewatch parties any time soon.

I'm trying!! Very Trying. ;-) (I know, so Yes, I'll get in
    first!!)

A VPN is okay, it's a legitimate piece of software... you won't
be arrested by the BBC Police (Overseas Dept) for using one.

Firefox, my alternate Browser, seems to offer an inbuilt VPN .... so you >never know!! ;-P

    Give it atry.

Is it just me or did the Writers/Producers present 'The

    as "The Bad Guy"??

    Stereo-typical type casting or what??

For 1978 that was the norm on TV and in films.

For sure. I mean just have a look at Westerns. The Goodie always wore
the White hat, the Baddie the Black!!

Now, the bad guy would be white and the good guy black. As
watching any modern BBC drama will show you...

    and, probably, both Female!! ;-P

    The YN nightmare.

    You know it makes sense.

Always in favour of the little guy!!

I'm Irish - we are the little guys!

One day, eventually, I'll get back to the other 'little guy'
I've used in the past .... Linux OS.

Linux isn't really 'little' per se. It might be for desktop
usage but it's very popular for use with servers and high
    performance computing systems.

Of course, you're not going to use a RHEL or Ubuntu system just
for posting messages to Usenet, so stick with the guy that
serves you best, big or little, and hopefully he will find a way
to help you get onto the BBC iPlayer to watch some Doctor Who!

There's a rewatch party going on mate...

    Fair dinkum.

    He can use Dailymotion.
