Despair.-a Three Archers and a couple of partners.-a Mick is back. Tregorrans, Frankses.-a I bet all of this could take place in an urban rather than a rural setting so what is the point?
Maybe the point is that there is very little real rural life anywhere in Britain any more. If somewhere is big enough to have a pub and a
(community) shop and an active church then the village is going to be
filled with incomers.
How could the lives of just the Archers be interesting enough to keep a
daily 15 minute slot filled in today's world.
I find it very realistic. My grandparents and later my aunt lived in a village which was too small for a village shop and even there people
behaved more as they do in urban environments.
I'm afraid you're hankering after a world that no longer exists.
