A comment about Andy "Maybelline"Uturnham today "what me, Aw shucks" got
    me thinking....

There once was an ugly duckling
After working with Blair and Brown
He tried to get ahead, but the other MPs said
    Quack get out of town
    Quack get out,
    Quack quack get out,
Quack quack get out of town
And he went in a flash with a flutter of a lash
As his efforts all tumbled down

    That poor little ugly duckling
    Went canvassing far and near
He failed in 2010 and in 15 yet again
    They said Quack, get out
    Quack quack Get out,
Quack quack get out of here
So he went with a sneer for a curry and a beer
    With a mascara smudging tear

All through a decade he hid himself away
Mayoring up North, doing what others might say
All through the decade taking credit, jeanrCOed and teerCOd
Till the PLP spied him there and very soon agreed
You're the leader we all need!
PM? Me, the one? Ah, go on!
And they said: "Yes, you're the one
ItrCOs just you on the ballot you see"
And he looked, and he saw, and he said
    "IrCOm PM! Whee!"

I'm not such an ugly duckling
    No mandate or policieeees
For in fact these MPs all in hock to the Chinese said
    Quack the best in town
    Quack, the best,
    Quack, quack the best,
Quack, quack the best in town"

Not a quack, donrCOt look back, no-one else is up to whack
But a smirk and a wink and a wife in a blue sack
And a head up his arse so high
    Say: "Who's an ugly duckling?"
    "Not I"
    "Not I"

    Apologies to Danny Kaye

I didn't notice the outfit in question, but I think that dig is a little unkind.

Back then, many radio sets were still in black and white.
