I thought you'd want to know the sad news that Heather, aka Chuckler,
aka the Chuckling Strumpet, died on Saturday. I've just heard the news
    from Richard, her Beamish Boy.

She'd been in hospital, with occasional side forays into rehab, and one
brief spell at home, since late last year but remained incredibly
    cheerful throughout it all.

Sad news indeed. I was just thinking about her the other day -
remembering many Umrats without whose presence Umra is left lacking a
    little.

I should have added that I'm very willing to forward any messages to

Thanks for letting us know Serena.

Like many umrats she hasn't posted for some time, but once an umrat...

She has been and will be sorely missed - RIP

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hadn't realised she was so ill. A very
splendid person and an umrat of the first water. Thank you dear Serena
for posting this, and please add my deep condolences to the list for
    Richard.

    That is sad news.
Although she hasn't posted here for some time we are poorer for her passing.
    My condolences to Richard.

Heather was part of what made umra umra and a little bit more of umra
has now fallen off its perch. My condolences to family, friends and

I'm going to York for a holiday in 3 weeks. Having booked it in January,
I'd either have a chat by phone or meet Chuckler and Richard as Mike and I
did exactly ten years ago this year.

She'd pointed me at a 'cat sculpture' trail round the city. I shall do what
    I can in her memory.
