Not the German underwear but Broadcasting House this morning.

Steve Rosenberg playing Barwick Green in the style of Rachmaninov. With
    a side order of Kalinka,

At about 09.31 with a brief reprise to play out the programme.

For those who'd like to _see_ him play it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M5SLQifvx0 (collected in 2023)
The man is insanely talented. I have collected 70 (wow, didn't realise
it was so many!) of his pieces; anyone who wants a list, email me (I
have links to many of their YouTube addresses, too).

Worst programme ever made? I was in hospital once having a knee
operation and I watched a whole episode of "EastEnders". Ugh! I suppose
it's true to life. But so is diarrhoea - and I don't want to see that
on television. - Patrick Moore, in Radio Times 12-18 May 2007.

I <cough> thought it was around 9.27 with the news summary at about
    9.31?

I didn't mention it before because I'm still pondering over that
excerpt and wondering whether it's actually been aired before. We had
a "Steve Rosenberg plays in different classical styles" segment before
    - and again I think that was on a previous BH. How long ago did the "constipated squirrel" insult occur? I'm sure I've heard about that
before - though that might have been on FOOC. I have a feeling that
although the piece was played in honour of The Archers' 75th, the
Steve Rosenberg variation wasn't originally composed for this
    occasion.

He has played in assorted styles, though he likes the Russian one - I
have his Russian Dr. Who theme, Souther TV ident., Last of the Summer
Vodka, Bagpuss, Valentina's Song (Tomorrow Will Be Better Than Today),

I didn't hear it on BH, so don't know if it's the same as the version I
    heard in 2023 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M5SLQifvx0); I don't

Doing my weekly trawl through radio programmes to discover what I've
missed and what I'd like to save for later, I noticed that Steve
Rosenberg was on air in more or less the same timeslot on Saturday in
    Saturday Live.

Since I never listen to Saturday Live and never listen even more
fervently since Adrian Chiles took it over, I have no idea whether any
of the BH material had been aired the previous day. But I thought I'd
    mention it anyway.
