Having complained for years about too few Archers in the cast list, now
there are six (plus Ruth by marriage, but then one should also include
Brian) you're still not satisfied. And I would have thought the
impending discussion of the effect of Pip's nuptials on the future of
the farm would have interested you.

Indeed - my post referenced that very story. However because they do
not write about the Archers we know that she works at Brookfield, is not
fit to be a partner in the business (let alone the owner) and nothing
else. No involvement in village events, no interaction with visits to
Grey Gables or Ambridge Rewilding or even taking Rosie to the swings or
the shop. So she has no character, no redeeming features, no adventures
- the Grundies and so on get to go to the Lake District. We hear her receptionist friend once in a blue moon - why are they not having girls
nights out and so on? Simply the writers are failing the entire Archers
clan and when one of them does something interesting (Helen) and meets a
nice man in Scotland the story goes nowhere rapidly.

So they need to be front and centre and are not.

I'm sick of aspects of it, but am interested in others. (Much the same
for other long-running sagas, such as the coercive control one.)

I once heard that a certain Australian soap had the shortest theme tune
ever: It went "Neigh-<click>". (Though I don't think I ever watched a
full episode, I have nothing against that particular programme; I know
lots of people enjoyed it.)
