Man. If Boris were still PM he'd have bombed all three of those Russian
boats the way Trump is blowing up suspected smuggling vessels now.
    That'd be great theatre.

    Play:

Horizon: Can't Remember The Title (PSVR2) - I have the Playstation VR2! It's... okay. If you set aside that I'm blind in an eye and still need
glasses to see out of my left eye with the stupid video hat on, it's
still pretty impressive what it can do and how well it works relative to
my last experience with VR from like 2005-ish or so. I can still tell
that it's changing around the focal point depending on where I point my
eyes, and I get the distinct impression that I have to up the refresh to
a full 120 Hz to make it actually usable. The game itself is fine, even
though it's largely a tech demo more than any kind of a vehicle for
inspiring narrative. I would probably have been pretty cross if I'd
bought this for the full retail price two years ago, and even for $300
it's more retail therapy than it is something I'm actually excited to
    own.

Arcania (PS3) - What a pleasant little western RPG. I was expecting
something awful and unenjoyable like a Uwe Boll film, and instead
there's actually competent writing and pacing underneath the clunky
2010-era graphics. I like that the setting is effectively made epic, but
the stakes in the tutorial area are small but relatable. Our slacker
shepherd who is secretly a hardened fighter that just wants to get
married is the kind of reluctant hero that I find really interesting,
and the way they tell his story is organic and plausible and not too
laboured. I don't think I knew (before looking it up) that this was set
in the same world as the Risen games, and now I have to go buy them all.
And oh hey, the very first Gothic game is getting a remaster next year. Everything old is still old because they can just keep selling it to us.

    Want:

Dusk Diver (PS4) - I haven't put in the second game yet. The shipment
with this one is arriving today, a week early. I'm irrationally fearful
that there's some bonus content or game feature that doesn't unlock if
you don't have a save from the first game when starting the second, but knowing game design as I do I suppose it's just going to be a bikini top
or an extra voice option or something.

    Bin:
    -==-

    Nothing gaming-related.

    -KKC, who needs more gin.

Wario Ware Touched (DS) - replaying this for no adequately explored
reason, and while it's mostly been going smoothly so far I've found it
weirdly tricky at times. The rubbing in particular seems to be more of
a problem than I remember. But to be fair, I think they have pills for
    that now.

I think this is roughly how I would react to modern VR, TBH.

    Want:

To get back to that battery-killing Android Minecraft again, and visit
some structures that are slightly more possible to find.

    Bin:

    Nothing.
