So how many more titles need to come out before the sweat glands can go
    back in?

    Play:

Yakuza (PS2) - Into Chapter 6 now. I know this story like the back of my
hand and I'm actually relying a little on a guide to make sure I don't
miss any of the wacky side missions. I've noticed that the random
encounters aren't happening as frequently as I remember that they did
back in the day, and I've discovered that this might be a function of
that I'm properly levelled up. On my first playthrough all those years
ago, I got annoyed with the random street fights enough that I steered
around them or tried to run my way through them. Taking them all on
head-first this time means that I just don't see as many of them as I
did before. I don't think I fully understood that the game was throwing
me a rope so that I could level up properly, and that's way I had so
much trouble with the boss battles at the time. On Saturday I was able
to make it through the whole Colosseum fight series without any trouble,
and I only needed one healing item and no weapons to take on the Majima
    boss encounter.

Chapter 6 of the original Yakuza ends in an interesting place. Kiryu
takes a detour out of the mystery he's trying to solve to help a couple
of kids making their tough choices. Takahashi wants out of his gang, and
Kyoko wants away from her gangster dad and all his drama. With only a
little bit of violence, Kiryu is able to help everybody save face and
come out on the other side with all their dignity and pride intact. It's amazing to me how consistently on-point the theme of parental failure is throughout the whole series, because both of these young side characters wouldn't be in their respective situations if they'd had just slightly
more competent parenting in their lives. This throughline carries all
the way to the end of Yakuza 6, where (minor spoiler) Kiryu writes a
heartfelt letter apologizing for being a failed father figure to the
person whose life might have benefitted most from his gentle guidance.
The Haruka scenes in this game hit really hard now that my own kid is
eight years old, but the scenes with teenagers struggling are really
emotional for me in brand new ways too.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth Part 1 (PS4) - Well, the first five
minutes of it at any rate. I bought the whole trilogy for the (counts)
fourth time because this latest release includes all of the DLC right
there on the disc, and there's no need for updates because it works
perfectly since it's essentially a straight port of the Vita build with
extra English voices. I'm genuinely interested in the simple but
engaging plot, but I keep hitting the square button by mistake which
skips forward through all of the dialogue and drags you straight to the
next interactive bit with no context or explanation. What I need to do
is remap the square button to like a ham and cheese toastie stuck to the
wall so that I don't accidentally press it at all.

More time (RL) - My son has expressed a small amount of dismay at the
number of after-school and weekend activities he's obligated for.
Ideally fewer of those means more time for me to sit and play games,
except that he wants to spend that time playing Roblox. I'm pretty well
ready to get the Sexbox out on a rolling platform somewhere for him to
enjoy away from my other game systems.

    Nothing gaming-related.

Sounds like you should have been on Question Time, where the
unprincing was apparently announced before a live studio audience.

    Play:

Minecraft (Android) - in this I seem to be torn between moving from
copper to iron armour or making my lava farm bigger, which is probably
a good sign that I'm trying to run before I can walk. It's been quite
a slow start really though, with quite a few deaths along the way.
Maybe I can partly blame the controls, but I think it's more to do
with finding and exploring lots of big (and thus dangerous) caverns
rather than looking for villages and the like on the surface which is
usually an easier and more sensible way to start the game. I don't
think it's the norm to get killed by the Warden before even having
iron armour, let's put it that way. :-)

    What I need to do
is remap the square button to
like a ham and cheese toastie stuck to the wall
so that I don't accidentally press it at all.

Edited to reflect the formatting this somehow developed in my head.

    Want:

To visit chunkbase.com and then head for one of the many villages etc.
that I presumably failed to spot in Android Minecraft. I did actually
look around a fair bit ingame before resorting to the arguably more
traditional cavern-exploring approach, so I expect some significant
facepalm action when I finally check up on where all the structures
    have been hiding.

    Bin:

    Nothing.
