Today's only Play entry comes courtesy of a game store that isn't quite
local to me, but that I haven't had an excuse to visit in quite a few
years. It's changed names and ownership in that intervening time and is honestly a shadow of its former self, so I'm loathe to name it for fear
of seeming like I'm complaining. But indie game stores now are needed
more than ever for their history and their expertise and instead their potential market is staying home, content to download the latest
first-person shooty-mans title and scream obscenities at one another in comfortable anonymity.

    Play:
    --=--

My Japanese Coach (DS) - Does this even count as a game? I held out for
a copy with the package and manual because that's how I roll. Also I got
the distinct impression that the manual was a little bit more important
for one of these titles that had both spoken language and handwriting instruction, and I was only partially right about that.

    Want:

Empire of Angels IV (PS4) - Part of a long-running series of games where Chinese game designers completely misinterpret Norse mythology for the
purpose of contriving battle situations for the cutest little strategy
RPG you ever did see. Under normal circumstances I'd just order a cheap
disc from Play-Asia, but here in the States there are tariffs to
consider. Do I want to help Trump pay for his stupid ballroom that he's
not even going to get to use because he's genuinely near death? Or am I willing to just keep ordering current games from Canada and set some priorities in life? It's a sequence of puzzles.

    Nothing gaming-related.

-KKC, who will probably make some more gaming time for himself later.

    Play:

Dying Light (PC) - onto the DLC The Following (as bundled with the
version I bought), which seems to inherit a copy of your gear from the
main game when you start but otherwise looks separate. It's a bit
different from the game proper, having various quite small areas you
drive between, often mowing down zombies on the way. Very much a
traditional asset-recycling kind of DLC aside from that, though. And
it's awkwardly leaning into some of the more annoying aspects of the
main game like the stealth at night, which could be almost entirely
avoided there but effectively can't be in this (or at least that's how
    it's looking so far).

My Japanese Coach (DS) - Does this even count as a game?

Maybe if it's your Japanese baseball coach.

    Want:

    Nothing.

    Bin:

Possibly this keyboard's space bar, which seems to have been fighting
me reasonably hard while typing this. Luckily, Ctrl-Shift-u 20 Enter
makes for an exceptionally user-friendly alternative.
