Minecraft (Linux) - in shocking news, I did some mining in the mining
and crafting game. I still haven't got a full diamond armour set ready
to disappear the next time I fall into lava, so obviously that needs
to happen. It means either mining a lot more diamonds, or doing a
bunch of trading with villagers - of supposedly mutual benefit, though
in practice it means trading for junk until you level them up enough
to have the chance of maybe eventually doing some trading you might
actually care about. Somehow, I'm not overly shocked to find myself
more drawn to the antisocial digging-a-hole approach.
ESPN NBA 2K5 (PS2) - Lakers over Pistons 43-39 in an abbreviated
exhibition game. This is what I do with sports games, watch the computer play itself and cinematically present a sports event.
Just you watch, devs will realise the appeal of this sort of idea and
start including a special mode for attracting players. The tough part
is what to call it.

Now I come to think of it, Minecraft villagers being a bit too much
like loot boxes (at least in terms of the levelling-up trade unlocks).
As much as I've never been a big fan of the trading in the game,
that's still not a terribly fun realisation.
