Three billion pounds to secure the eastern border of Poland? I like that
it took them a whole hundred years to start thinking that might be a
    good idea.

    Play:
    --=--

Genesis 6-pak (MD) - You cats didn't get this cartridge in Blighty, it
seems to be unique to the US (and to South America, for some reason).
It's a collection of the first Sonic, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi,
Columns, the original Streets of Rage and Super Hang-on. Annoyingly,
hitting reset does only what it did for each original game and doesn't
bring you back to a game select screen, so if you want to switch titles
you have to power off. I spent a little time in Sonic and accidentally
got a Chaos Emerald without really trying. I also made it further into
Golden Axe than I meant to. Basically I was using my Multimega/CDX unit
to test out an old car DVD player unit that has a interesting mechanism
for supporting two sets of inputs and four outputs all at once, the idea
being that your Mormon family might have four children who each want to
watch different programming on the long trip to the missionary
headquarters. Because what I really need to be doing with my playing
space is setting up multiple screens rather than just one.

    Want:
    --=--

More video signal routing options - Before I discovered the electrical
faults in my house, I had almost all my game systems connected to an
elaborate spaghetti maze of switchers and Y-connectors so that at any
moment I could power one on and make its video signal reach my one
television. In the age of HDMI and low-power LCD screens that's not only
less practical but more time-consuming because I'm bad at labelling
things. What I want is a nice self-contained space for the 8-bit and
16-bit devices that don't really benefit from giant HD screens.

    Bin:

My Wife's Cats (RL) - I now call them my wife's cats now because one of
them has been leaving little brown cat eggs in places where they
shouldn't go, and so instead of spending my Sunday relaxing and enjoying
the technological marvels of our age I am instead depositing shit into containers to be taken away by people who do not get enough credit or appreciation. Hooray.

    Expenditure:
    -----=-----

    Balance forward - $1,480

-KKC, who meant to do more with his weekend.

Outrun 2006 (PC) - a bit more of this.

    Want:

    Nothing.

Playing an input-heavy game I first played when I was half my current
age, yet somehow always managing to be surprised at being worse now.
The most unexpected of things, you might say.

There's probably a Docker joke in there somewhere.
