    An error with my account!

Thunderbird message says:- Unable to write the email to the mailbox.
Make sure the file system allows you write privileges and you have
enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

    Symptoms..

Constantly repeating mail message from ebay about a delivery.

I can read and send mail from my control panel (Namesco)

    Any suggestions

Well, you could make sure the file system allows you write privileges
and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.

Or, you could try googling for the error message and see what
other people have found. It looks like an anti-virus program
    might be responsible.

My thunderbird occasionally says the same, where I *know* I'm the owner
of the entire user folder structure with full permissions.

I think it gets a bit confused when it's doing tidying/compaction of
folders when it first runs, after a couple of minutes it sorts itself out.

I only have standard MS Defender, and haven't excluded the thunderbird
    profile from virus scanning.

    I try to avoid Google:-(

However, duckduckgo has a list of possible causes. Mostly beyond my
    competence to resolve.

Two recent events seem linked. Yahoo signed me up for their E mail
service. I was already a user so this wasn't a complete surprise.
Deleting their new service has stopped the (unable to write....) message
but I still get endless copies of an impending delivery mail from Evri.
and no mail collection from Namesco:-(

Right! With expert help from my neighbour, the problem turned out to be
the *un-deliverable* mail from Evri routed through ebay.
