There is a procedure to use the compatible AGPS file from Sony
Search for 'download Assistme.dat' from sony.
Rename it 'GPSDATA.dat'
On the camera with SD card installed, menu to gps assist update SD card. This will create a folder on the SD card and install a Windows program into it. You don't need to worry about that, just put the SD into the PC and overwrite the GPSDATA.DAT file in the folder with the one downloaded from Sony. Then put it back into the camera and it should update.
V - the instructions I found - V
"I just discovered that Panasonic has terminated support for downloading GPS Assist data for several cameras. I have the Lumix DMC-TS5 which I use frequently and have always used this feature to speed up acquisition.

It looks like it might apply to all models that had GPS that allowed downloading the GPS Assist data, but it's difficult to verify the way they announced it. A lot of the "cloud" features were also removed although I never used any of them.
Interestingly, my Sony a77 camera also uses GPS Assist data, and I noticed that the files are the exact same size. Taking a chance I renamed the Sony file and copied to the SD card, and it appears the camera has the updated GPS assist data! At least the "valid" date range changed to be from yesterday to a month later...
FYI the Sony data address is located here:
