    HI,
ordered a laptop battery from Dell. Sent from Coventry to Belfast on
29/4 by UPS. Given a delivery date 5/5. Then UPS need a commercial
invoice, whatever that is? Something to do with customs checks.Lots of
updates from UPS and today they are returning the battery to DELL.

Can't find a email address for DELL. On their website I just go around
in circles. None of the drop down options apply.

American companies haven't updated their procedures since we left the EU.
I had the same problem with an RMA to WD, I followed the instructions but
they just left the drive in customs in Czechoslovakia because their
process didn't take account we had left the EU.

It's news to me that Coventry is in Ireland! Perhaps I am too, 'cos I'm
only about 12 miles from Coventry and have a CV postcode?

I think NI is still in the EU for customs purposes. Perhaps the OP could
order from Dell Europe not Dell UK?

I wonder if this is a UPS problem rather than Dell's?

There are a number of UK outlets selling Genuine Dell parts, so you
don't have to deal directly with Dell. Find one that has the product
you want at a price you consider reasonable and get in touch to check
that they can deliver to Belfast.

Dell's website doesn't seem to have an email quoted, but I did find,
tucked away, a phone number 0800 085 4878. It is a free call so you
haven't got much to lose if you try ringing them.

There are issues in sending goods from GB to NI , a lot more paperwork
etc but I would have expected DELL to have that all sorted.
Many small businesses will not deliver to NI anymore.

    Sounds reasonable.
As there are no border checks between NI and Eire the checks have to be
done prior to entering NI if sent from non-EU sources.

    I think
