I recieved the above message when I opened the App Store app. this morning. I'm not sure why I got it but this post on the ASC sort of explains it. No charge should be forthcoming (I hope).

No. Too much like an invitation to download malware. I've seen enough of those
- just an instruction to visit a website, no context or any reason.

Malware?!!! Everyone reading this group knows that there's no such thing on Apple devices!!!
Buy, hey! You are wise to be cautious. :-)
The video is about the future of Microsoft (and about what they have been getting up to!)
*Key aspects of Microsoft Scout* include:
Always-On Autonomous Operation: Unlike standard AI assistants that only respond when prompted, Scout runs continuously across your desktop
(Windows and macOS), browser, and Microsoft 365 environment to manage
tasks, monitor workflows, and execute multi-step projects without
constant human intervention.
Deep Workspace Integration: It has deep access to local files, shell commands, development environments, web tools, and Microsoft 365 data (including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint). It can read,
write, and search files, execute local commands, and handle tasks like
inbox triage, meeting preparation, and calendar optimization.
Sub-Agent Delegation & Research: For complex or multi-threaded tasks,
Scout can independently launch and coordinate specialized background sub-agents to tackle parts of a problem in parallel before synthesizing
the final result.
Long-Term Memory & Personalization: It maintains persistent memory
across sessionsrCoproactively remembering preferences, past work context,
and behavioural patternsrCoand can be given its own dedicated identity
within an organization's tenant.
Enterprise Security and Governance: Because it acts with a degree of
autonomy and possesses its own directory identity, it includes robust enterprise controls, audit logs, policy conformance checking, and permission-aware boundaries to ensure actions stay compliant with
corporate guidelines.
Essentially, while Copilot is designed to answer questions when you ask
them, Scout is built to anticipate needs and handle complex, ongoing
work streams autonomously.
BTW, my attention span these days is around five minutes.
