Had a day of power outages here in East Yorkshire. ItrCOs common here,
probably to do with the local power substation being located in a wetland
area!
When I got the first Mini earlier in the year I decided to get a little APC UPS, in this case I got the BV500 rCyEASY UPSrCO.
It earned its keep today for sure. I thought the surges had blown it when
it kept bleeping for being on battery power, even though the power was back
on. I checked leads, and fuses, all good.
The kitchen LED strip light was also flickering and flashing, so it looked
like werCOd had a bad surge, and popped a few things.
Northern Power donrCOt compensate, thanks guys.
I was looking at just ordering a new UPS, but had a quick look at the APC website. Information is there if you dig enough, but warranty support is
pretty nonexistent unless yourCOre a business user.
I eventually found that the UPS I have does continue to beep like this if
the power supply quality is greater than 5% outside specs. I can only guess this is what was happening, as we had another power blip, but this time the
UPS is now functioning normally, and so is the kitchen light.
IrCOve never been so pleased about owning such a thing. So if you donrCOt have one, be warned.
