• Syntactical confusion

I have a warning in iPhone Settings: "This iphone isn't syncing your emcrypted data...It includes saved passwords and data from Health and Maps."

    Do we think they mean

    a) (saved passwords) and (data from Health and Maps)

    or

    b) (saved passwords and data) from Health and Maps

Because if it's a), I'd be rather more concerned than if it's b).

Have you tried restarting the iPhone and/or logging out and then logging back in to iCloud? Just wondering if this might kick full syncing back into action. As to a) or b) and being a pessimist (well sometimes!), I'd vote for a).

You should be particularly concerned about your government (irrespective
of name or colour). It disallows real E2E-encryption since about two years.

I never see such warnings in Switzerland.

My interpretation would indeed be a).

I hope you can afford it.

I'm guessing your backup isn't encrypted. When that's the case the
iPhone doesn't sync things that are encrypted in the phone as they
    wouldn't be on the Mac.

    So the answer is (a).

I don't *think* that's what was going on. When I followed the prompts to fix this, I was asked for the passcode to another of my devices. Having entered that, all the warnings have stopped.

Also, this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102651 seems to say that all
iCloud data is encrypted by default. The variations are about whether it's end-to-end or not. Or something...

I had tried that at some point. Anyway, this time I went along with it, and
was prompted to enter the passcode for another device (it had a list of I
think every iThing I've ever owned), and all seems fine.
