    Firefox 129.0.2 on OS 10.15.7

I can see how to delete recent browsing history but how do I delete the
very oldest entries in the list.?

I have tried highlighting them (individually or in blocks) and then
using the Delete key or CMD-Delete but this doesn't get rid of them.
    The Firefox Help ...doesn't.

I think it's in Firefox/Settings/Privacy and Security/History, having just looked.

I've always used /Cookies and Site Data/Clear Browsing Data in the past - not sure which to use, they both seem to do the same thing.

    That's a rather old version.

Show all history, select the ones you want to delete, then select
    "Delete" from the gear-wheel menu.

https://github.com/Rayquaza01/HistoryCleaner extension if you want to do
it automated. Also, why are you still on v129? Use ESR if you don't want
to update to newer major versions (e.g., v151).

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." --Revelation 21:2-4. Now pls.

    Really? I'm using 115.

115 is an "extended support release", so you might be using an
up-to-date version (the current one appears to be 115.36.0).

Security bugs are constantly being found and exploited in web
browsers, so it's sensible to use an up-to-date version.

Right, but it's running under Win-7 and the newer, "better" versions
    won't.

I take your point and you are correct but I'm rather stuffed.

No, I'm never going to buy a later computer with a later OS. This one
    is my last.

    But thank you.

There are two types of hard drive.

    Ones that HAVE failed .....

..... and those that are GOING to fail.

What will you do then, John?

Show all history, select the ones you want to delete, then select
    "Delete" from the gear-wheel menu.

Or, once you've "selected" or highlighted them, simply press the
    "Delete" key.

I just did this. It worked. :)

I did a search, in the searchy-box, for the ones I didn't want and
highlighted them all using "Edit/Select All". One delete-key press
    exterminated them all.

    Thanks, that seems to work.

I never thought of using the gear wheel thingy. I'm too used to menus
    and texty wordy bits.
