• eBay win: Ultrafine 5K

So, I decided to take a chance on an eBay listing. LG Ultrafine 5K, rCLworks greatrCY, light scratches on bezel and stand but none on screen, stand not working and permanently stuck in its highest position. Sold as rCLSpares or repairrCY for that reason. Buy it now - -u149.

ItrCOs just arrived. It works absolutely perfectly, zero scratches anywhere except a fine line on the very corner of the base, stand working absolutely perfectly with no concerns.

-u149. Ultrafine 5k. CanrCOt complain at that really, can you. I now have two of these units. I keep umming and erring about ultrawides and IrCOd have gone that way if I werenrCOt spoiled by the PPI of the Ultrafine I have already.
So now I have two of rCyem - fantastic stuff for a frankly incredible value. IrCOve also just gained an extra three USB C ports for a start, even hubs are about a third or more of that price.

Very happy. Second rCLspares or repairsrCY win in a row, with the other one being a Flying Cow. No really, a Flying Cow -<https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/midiman-flying-cow>
    .

    Cheers,
    Ian

ItrCOs an Ultrafine 5K. Most people think they can -only- work with Macs - plug it into Windows and it will show no picture. Turns out you can work it, just for some dumb reason the default brightness is zero on Windows and you need to install the LG utility to bring it up to visible.

Annoyingly my M2 Pro maxes out at two external monitors, otherwise IrCOd have grabbed a second. 2 x Ultrafine 5K is good. 3 x Ultrafine 5k would be
    sublime.

    Cheers,
    Ian

OoI, what resolution do you use? I've got mine (4K BenQ PD2705U) set at 2560 x 1440, which works pretty well but it's not quite as sharp as I'd like. I think the Mac (Mini M4) has to do some scaling, which isn't ideal.

They are polyvalent. I use my 27"-Dell for Windows, Linux and Mac.

No issues with my Dell 27" here at all! The screen determines what is
shown not the OS which is in fact the normal behaviour.

IrCOve tried two that IrCOm comfortable with:
    - 2560x1440, which is the default
    - 2880x1620, still perfectly reasonable

If you are insane, they can go up to 5120x2880. If you are insane.

Looking at the BenQ the PPI is 163, whereas the PPI of the LG units is 218.
So at the same resolution, the text will be a lot more sharp.

Not quite for the LGs. There are no physical controls, itrCOs all software. For a while I thought the screen simply didnrCOt work on Windows and there
are many posts thinking the same. If you download LGs...err...On Screen? something like that...utility then you suddenly realise the brightness being communicated is is 0 by default. Set it, and all is fine.

    Thanks,
    Ian
