  • OS upgrade help re: WINE

    I am about to upgrade my OS from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, but I have a
    concern with WINE. I had to go through various contortions to configure
    WINE to work with my Swann Security CCTV programme, and there is no way
    I could remember what I had to do. How can I make sure that whatever configuration changes I made to the 22.04 can be carried over the
    24.04 WINE?
    Any help appreciated.

    The settings are in your home directory, so you should back them up and restore them to a virtual machine to test (this also tests if your
    backup is working).

    Thanks. But as it happens, the basic upgrade to 24.04 seems to have
    failed, so I am nowhere near this yet! I still use the 22.04, it works.
