From Newsgroup: uk.comp.os.linux

Recently, gmail has seemed to be slow to show me new messages. I can
Get Messages, and nothing happens, so I go and do something else, and
when I go back to T-bird, there is a bunch of new messages that seem to
have been found in the back somewhere. This I can live with, it's just annoying.
Every evening, I check messages in the Spam folder, then delete them,
and I also delete messages in the Deleted folder. Last night, there were
no messages in the Deleted folder, even though I knew that I had sent
several there.
This morning, I checked it again, and it had found the missing messages
from yesterday, and added a few from 2013 for good measure.
Ah well, it keeps us on our toes, I suppose.
