    In 2022 I bought a 500GB SSD from Crucial at under -u50.

    Similar products are now about double that price. Why the price increase?

    Forget 2022 ... in about October last year I bought a 1TB SSD for -u70, they're now about twice that.

    The problem is AI. The costs of RAM and solid state storage have gone
    through the roof as companies build datacentres to cope with the
    anticipated demand.

    If only the AI bubble would burst ...
