• McAfee problem

I'm trying to uninstal McAfee from an HP desktop running Win 11 Pro.
I've used McAfee's uninstall program but I'm still getting pop-ups.
I've checked that there is no trace of the program in 'Programs and
features'. Anyone got ideas as to how I can resolve this?
    TIA

I find both Norton and McAfee uninstallers leave behind loads of
discarded files and registry entries, as you see clearly if you
uninstall them using Revo Uninstaller (free and excellent). Both also
tend to install other "utilities" which need removing separately. You
can see what's running by downloading Autoruns from sysinternals.com
(now part of Microsoft) - and you can set them not to auto-start from
    that tool.

Pop-ups might possibly be coming from your browser - check the
"Notifications" part of the browser settings.

Of course, don't underestimate the power of a good AI tool (I like
Perplexity best) to identify the source of a specific pop-up given a well-structured and detailed "prompt".
