Amazon Prime has a BBC special up where they had a 90 year celebration
in 2016 for David Attenborough. It looks like he is going to beat
Sewell Wright who lived to be 99 and was probably active in science
until he died. I looked it up and Attenborough's birthday is May 8th
1926. He started with the BBC in 1954 as host for a zoo show. He is
the only person to have won a BAFTA award for black and white, colour
(UK), high definition, 3D and 4K resolution. I hope that I am still
doing as well if I ever get to be 100.

Attenborough is also the oldest person to win an Emmy (beating out Dick
    Van Dyke by one year).

    Wiki biography.

A year or so ago one of the BBC channels was running the Planet Earth,
Frozen Planet, Blue Planet and Blue Planet II on Saturday maratons. My
wife would turn it on in the morning and watch one complete series every Saturday even if it was repeated from the week before. She would do
other things like sewing, but had the TV on until the series ended. It
was something that you could just watch over and over. It is something
made for high definition big screen televison.
