The mechanism is simple:
When we sit for hours, blood sugar rises, blood flow in the lower body slows down, and the leg and buttock muscles (the largest in the body) simply shut down
An evening walk doesn't fix this it happens once a day, but the metabolic damage from sitting accumulates every hour
But 10 squats instantly activate the muscles: glucose is removed from the bloodstream, blood circulation improves, and the metabolism resumes
The effect lasts for about 45 minutes that's why this is the ideal interval between sets
