A person found dead along Mulholland Highway near Malibu last week was identified by family as a transgender woman who had been reported missing.
Day RodasrCO body was discovered around 7:40 a.m. Dec. 1, between the intersection of Mulholland Highway and Decker Road, and Mulholland and Westlake Boulevard, near El Matador Beach in Malibu, according to the Los Angeles County SheriffrCOs Department.
The remote area is in the unincorporated Santa Monica Mountains.
Preliminary information indicated that Rodas had overdosed and her body was brought to the location.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide, but the exact cause of
death has not been determined.
