On page 392 of his second volume of History of Somerset (1791), John
    Collinson wrote:

In the time of King Stephen, Jordan de Marisco, or of the Marsh,
probably so titled from the spot of his nativity in this neighborhood,
was lord of a manor in Huntspill, and had a son named Willam, who
    inherited the same.

The cited source for this information is rCLCart. Antiq.rCY I understand
this to reference an old charter rather than the Cartae Antiquae Rolls,
as both Pipe Roll Society volumes of the Cartae Antique Rolls have no reference to Jordan de Marisco.

Does anyone have a source for the charter Collinson referenced?

I have reviewed the Eric St. John Brooks articles on The Family of
Marisco (1931-1932) and found no source there.

On Mon 24 Dec 2007 CE Wood posted a detailed account of Geoffrey de
Marisco (d 1245) Justiciar of Ireland, to gen-medieval@rootsweb.com, an article originally written by The Rev. William Hunt, D.Litt
There are several Jordan de Marisco mentioned in this article including
a lord of Huntspill-Mareys, Somerset said to be his son, but proof is
    lacking and/or contradictory.

IrCOm afraid my ancestor surnamed Morres (changed to de Montmorency) put forward a spurious pedigree including the de Marisco lords of Huntspill,
torn apart by the editors of the Complete Peerage (See C.P. vol 9
    appendix I)

If you would like a copy of The Rev. William Hunt, let me know

I would certainly like a copy of Rev. Hunt's article. My email address
is Rwgoff1981 at gmail dot com.

Though it may be the same as the article available online at:

    Thank you,

    Rob
