I tried to use the site from https://genealogics.org/ and it is
now requesting a password.

Leo died a few years ago. I thought some people took the site
after that.

It's been closed to regular traffic for a couple months now. There is a
group of Fellows of the American Society of Genealogists who may be
trying to figure out how to maintain and continue this national
treasure. Hopefully it works out
