    Greetings,

By most accounts, the wife of John Woodcock and (2) John Lumley is given
as the daughter of Sir Matthew Redman/Redmayne. See CP 8:271; RA 3: 672
    Lumley 15.

Both references seem to rely on the Sir John's monumental inscription,
as reported in Surtees' History of Durham, but that MI was made in 1594,
when sir john's remains were moved to Chester-le-Street, some 170 years
    after his death.

The _History of Parliament_ (1993) has notes for Richard Redman
(Felicia's would-be brother) and her first husband, John Woodcock that
her father was Thomas Austyn, d. c1391, mercer and alderman of London.

    Weblinks to HoP online:
    Richard: https://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/redmayne-sir-richard-1426
    John: https://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/woodcock-john-1409

Those notes cite Corporation of London RO, hr 134/69, 140/61; Guildhall
Lib. London 9171/1, ff. 244-5. Both of those collections are now with
London Met. Archives and I have no clue as to what their archival
reference numbers are now. However, the _Calendar of Record Books:
Letter Book I_ pp. 112-113 (available here: https://archive.org/details/calendarofletter09corp/page/112/mode/2up)
    has this:

"17 March, 14 Henry IV. [A.D. 1412-13], came John, son of John Wodecok, mercer, being now of full age, and acknowledged that he had received
from [names of the executors] of the deceased, certain goods,rCa also the
sum of -u20, bequeathed to him by Thomas Austyn, mercer, his grandfather."

RA at 3:673 does acknowledge the HoP notes but simply dismisses them
without explanation: "(incorrectly identifies wife Felicity as daughter
of Thomas Austyn)", overlooking the bequest shown above.

I can't see in the SGM archive where this has been discussed before.
    Comments?

    Thanks
