Was just reading where the number of satellites in orbit now is starting
to seriously interfere with interstellar observation, so a space
telescope is starting to look a lot more important than ever. A moon
based observatory would be cool - would be at least one
legitimate/semi-serious reason to build something permanent.

Telecom satellites in orbit are starting to look like a fleastorm.

"A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket will send the observatory to its final destination a million miles from Earth."
