Your doctor's AI notetaker may be making things up, Ontario audit
    finds

Made-up therapy referrals, incorrect prescriptions among the common
    mistakes.

In recent years, many overworked doctors have turned to so-called AI
medical scribes to help automatically summarize patient conversations, diagnoses, and care decisions into structured notes for health record
logging. But a recent audit by the auditor general of Ontario found
that AI scribes recommended by the provincial government regularly
generated incorrect, incomplete and hallucinated information that
could "potentially result in inadequate or harmful treatment plans
that may potentially impact patient health outcomes."

I've got a lawyer on the phone who says that doctors relying on AI
sound like the target of an easy, lucrative lawsuit. Surely doctors
aren't THAT stupid, are they? And if they are, let's sue them into a
new line of work, like waxing cars.

When "processing" a constant stream of humans, they can't remember all
    of their patients issues.

Then they should go wax cars! Or take notes, yknow, exercise brain
power. If my doctor gets confused and can't remember if i'm the patient
needing a mole removed or a kidney extracted, then that doctor is
incompetent and should lose his license. Simples.

No point making excuses for idiots, right? That's how we got into the
current state of affairs I'm quite sure.
