I am referring to the name uU|ocioaO .Is this influenced by the European >> name which sounds the same (assuming that it does sound the same ,
I haven't actually heard uU|ocioaO pronounced) or is the similarity a
coincidence ? Does the name mean something ? I know the meaning of the
individual kanji but my dictionary doesn't say anything about the
    combination.

The characters are being used for their pronunciation, their
    phonetic value: E RI KA.

As is common, there are other pronunciations (readings) for
these kanji, so you may need to know which of the possibilities
    is intended or possible.

    Cheers!

uU|ocioaO -- is there another reading?

Other common names (like this one, a Hybrid names) are:

    rica (rika)
    Lisa, Risa ,

    Arisa, Alyssa

    Naomi

I could add that... there is now a famous Skateboarder named Coco.
