    Though this discussion occurred 11 years ago, I found it very helpful to consider fixes with my MSCAA charger.

    In my case, the 3rd battery slot was acting up. If I put in 1 AAA battery by itself, it would charge OK. If I placed another AAA battery at the same time in another slot, the #3 LED would turn on a while then off.

    I thought of replacing the A4800 for #3 as recommended here. However, when I opened the unit, I saw one of the terminals wiggled slightly. I reassembled the unit and ran an experiment to charge an AA battery instead of AAA. #3 didn't have a problem with the AA.

    I took it apart again and saw the + terminal AAA needed resoldering. This fixed it.

    I actually didn't need to replace the A4800. It seems poor contact was causing trouble, affecting current flow.

    I saw other terminals could benefit from resoldering, so I did.

    Posting this in case others experience similar issues.
