We only need a modern version of 8086/80286/80386 using
modern fabrication process. Then we give up fancy GUI
and roll back to text-mode MS-DOS with english-only
software like WordPerfect, Lotus, Harvard Graphics.
No games, no videos, not even sound. :)

Wordstar was the "real deal" i still remember some of the ^ codes,

CP/M 80 . None of this "Johnny come lately" DOS stuff .

Nobody worries about PDF drivers for DOS and why bother?
If you want back to the stone age, what are you whining here, take a pen
and paper and you be fine.

Wordstar 3.3/4.0 does NOT have print preview.
Then WordPerfect 5.1 offers print preview,
which forced Wordstar to offer one. I think
it's Wordstar 6.0 ... cannot quite remember.
By then everyone (including me) had moved to
WordPerfect 5.1.

Microsoft Word for DOS wasn't that great back
then, until Windows 3.0. But some users liked
WYSIWYG. Not me though. Print Preview was
good enough.

But you need older versions to convert
WordPerfect for DOS documents to PDFs.
