• Science is NEVER a priority

So Wiki isn't a cite, it's not a legitimate cite, but you can
use it to establish that an idea is out there, you're not
making shit up... someone else else.

Anyway, here's Wiki on a Ganymede probe:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laplace-P

The idea here is NOT to establish that there's a Ganymede
probe, it's to establish that there isn't one.

    Science isn't a priority. It's not.

See, Ganymede is one of the best candidates for life outside
of the earth, within our solar system. AND they have detected
things like oxygen! Not everywhere, but the belief is that
the life would exist within a subsurface ocean...

Venus? That's even easier! The potential life is high up
in the atmosphere. They don't even have to land! They could
just fly low, scooping up air into collectors then fly back
    out.

No digging. No melting through ice. No landing, collecting
and then launching back into space...

And of course there's the Mars "Return Mission." Which
means gathering up samples and blasting them back to Earth
    for analysis.

ALL OF THESE could have already been paid for. Done. All we
had to do is decide that science, the biggest scientific
discovery we could yet make is more important than killing
people in wars that are not our own.

HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS for other people's wars, nothing for
Ganymede. FOUR TRILLION DOLLARS wasted on an idiotic and
unjustifiable "Response" to CoronaPanic, but nothing for
    the search for life...

Government is owned by the special interests, and the
special interests -- through bribes and blackmail -- tells
the government who to give the money to. And it's never
    science. Not real science.

    "Other people's problems."

There's PLENTY of examples of it, outside of science. But
it's always the same: Money wasted on things that we
would be better off NOT getting involved in, and nothing
    for things that matter.

That seems to be the trend in the US lately (from a European point of view).

But there is a point in wasting money on things that we would better not getting involved in, and nothing for things that matter (such as paleontology). Science seems to be under threat in the US. Don't you worry?

If I'm concerned, the collective celebrates it.

If I celebrated it, the collective would be wetting their beds in
    fright over it.

In America right now, it's not what is said, it's who is saying it.

    That's all that ever matters.

As a liberal Democrat, I -- along with everyone else to the left of
Hitler -- were against the 1% bringing in illegal aliens to exploit.
We were against exploitation, period, and against THE INTENTIONAL
downward pressure on wages. We were pro "Working man" and wanted to
see them earn a living wage, not watch their earning power fall.

Now? Well. Now these jackasses love illegal aliens and you're a
Reich wing racist MAGA hat wearing fascist if you don't agree with
    them.

    Honestly. People are FUCKED UP!

They can't even see it. They can't remember back even a single news
cycle. They have no clue how much they flip-flop to the whims of the
    media.

I knew it was all over during Trump's first term, when he said he
wanted the U.S. out of Syria and the Left instantly became pro
    war...

The US is just one country among 195. For instance, when the DoD (or,
DoW) shutdown the satellite that the NSIDC had been using for over 40
years, they switched to one that is owned & operated by Japan:

    https://nsidc.org/sea-ice-today

They recalibrated their datasets and life went on!

Who cares? The Russians have controlled -- OWNED -- Kiev

It's not our war. Even if you want to pretend it's an epic
