Seems pointless. I would occasionally post and then
the collective would spin through a sack of nyms
    pissing over itself...

Should have died 10 years ago, at least.

Actually, the group died for me back in 2011 when I was blocked
for *Daring* to question the Gwobull Warbling gospels:

    https://groups.google.com/g/talk.origins/c/20oZDFrDdZk/m/AC5SFgjmjzkJ

That's the thread. I suddenly stopped posting in it because, now get
    this, I was blocked.

Before that I had another truly bad experience, or an even worse
than normally bad experience, when I argued AGAINST the entire
group by taking the position that Neanderthals & so called "Moderns"
    interbred.

I pointed out that they did, NOBODY else in the group agreed with
me. Or, probably more accurately put: NOBODY gave a shit about
science, about facts, but instead cared about going along with the
herd, being seen as belonging to the "Right side."

A similar moment happened in alt.atheism where the collective was
"Arguing" that dogs & wolves are different species, though modern
convention says they were one and the same. The collective claimed
    it didn't...

You can say "They're trolls, that's why they do it," but was
absolutely everyone who posted to these groups trolls? Everyone?

    Because "People" <wink> <wink> <nudge> <nudge> would post cites
that did NOT say what they claimed they said, and NOBODY would
challenge them. Ever. Sometimes they'd post the same cite again
and again and again, as if the repetition would reorder reality,
and STILL nobody would challenge them...

I also got into more than one major (f)Lame wars in alt.atheism
for the unforgivable sin of "Claiming" that testimony is evidence.
That, it's accepted in every court in the land and it's even the
basis of countless "Scientific Studies" -- all of those reliant
    upon self reports.

    Yeah. Real controversial, that.

So is talk.origins dead? Finally? Have the priests of talk.origins
cast aside their robes, abandoned their high alter? Finally?
