Wired has noticed that only Windows seems to be affected by this issue:

    https://www.wired.com/story/microsoft-windows-outage-crowdstrike-global-it-probems/

"The incident, so far, appears to only be impacting devices running
Windows and not other operating systems."

Gee, I wonder if it has something to do with it being a "Windows" update
    (same article):

"CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz issued a statement about the outages,
saying the company has found a rCLdefectrCY in an update for Windows that it issued."

Does the CrowdStrike software run under other operating systems?

Maybe, but the article refers to it as "an update for Windows". I assume it
was pushed to Windows systems specifically.
