    hi
hopefully I am using this correctly.

    I have simple BBS at cw.qc.to 9000
i wanted to be able to read and post on usenet using my BBS.

so ignorantly of all the usenet stuff. I proceeded to read the
RFC977 and RFC1036. so I made a modification to my bbs that
will allow it to connect the a newsserver E-S or i2pn2g. it
bascally acts like a newsreader when it connects to the newserver.
When a user posts the headersare build with a FROM: of format
user@cw.qc.to and a SENDER: header using a valid email address.

    my question are
    1. As I was told this might trigger a nymshifting limit. when
multiple users are posting on the bbs. should i i be formatting
the headers differently? Anybody can point me to the right direction?
    2. I wanted to use the application password instead of my user
password, but authentication fails. anybody have an idea how to
the application password? do i use the same username?

i asked similar question at Eternal-September, but thought it
would help if i ask here too.

    regards
    fernan

    Hi Fernan,

I saw your email before this so have already replied there. I'll copy
here so others may benefit (or not :)

    news.i2pn2.org add a 'posting-user' header
in Injection-Info that is based on the user who authenticated. So in
    this
case, that user is your bbs, not the poster. All your users would have
    the
same posting-user header, so it would be clear the posts all come from
    the
    same account.

The one rule that is important for a bbs to apply, is that all your
    users must
authenticate with your bbs. It must be possible for you (not me), to
    deal with
a problem user based on their From address. So, all users must
    authenticate
with your bbs before posting to Usenet.

    2. I wanted to use the application password instead of my user
password, but authentication fails. anybody have an idea how to
the application password? do i use the same username?

I don't know what is the 'applicaion password'. Just use your i2pn2.org password to authenticate with new.i2pn2.org. If you want to have two
ways to authenticate, like one for your bbs and one for yourself, just
create two accounts (using different email addresses).
