Hello!
This dude Learner Tien from USA has somehow climbed
up the rankings to quite a high position. In US Open,
he just beat Jakub Mensik to make it to the fourth
round.
For me, Tien has been flying off my radar, I have
not seen many of his matches but he seems to be
doing excellent work. Based on what I have seen, I
do not think he is ever going to win a Gran Slam
singles title, but he could stay where he is and
maybe even rise a bit higher. So I think he is
very good but not destined for top-level greatness.
In addition to Rafa Jodar, I think Learner Tien has
to be one of those players who has risen the most
in the rankings during this season. If he stays
healthy and uninjured, he will make a comfortable
living out of playing professional tennis.

Funny you should say that because he has said he doesn't want to fail at tennis as he may have to go work in a cubicle for decades.-a To me that
says he's not hungry enough to be a slam level champ but is talented and motivated enough to make it a great career.-a From what I've seen so far he's about equal in talent to Tommy Paul, which is top 10 level.
With Tien, what I have seen earlier this year, and he may be past it, is
a tendency to be the petulant spoiled Chinese son if he feels things are unfairly not going his way.
And really, "fair" is just the rules, and nothing beyond it like lucky bounces, crowd noise, wind, etc.
We will see, I guess.
Paul is the opposite. Positive, can-do, limited mainly by his physical ability.
