Last night Finnish time, when I saw it is Navone vs
Djoker, I had a strange hunch that Djoker just might
lose this time. Sure enough, when I woke up and
checked out the result, Djoker was out! Maybe I
should have placed a small bet yesterday...

This is Djoker's first first round exit in a GS event
since Aussie Open in 2006. So this was a rare event
indeed!

And then once I started watching last night's match (early third set), I

And then once I started watching last night's match (early third set), I knew he was going to lose. I was sad watching it, GOAT. Father time and all...

He's got no chance at 3 of the slams now, and even Wimbledon he'll be 40
next time he plays. Next USO will be 20 yrs since he made his 1st slam
final. Might be good to announce his farewell tour next year?

I think that puts too much pressure on everyone.

Just play as long as you want and then quit.

But hasn't he said he wants to compete in Los Angeles Olympics?

That's probably going to be his last assuming he is healthy enough.


I think his fitness sucks, he has been playing serious matches only couple =
of times per year for a few years now and it has caught up with him.


Obviously as you get old you don't have motivation, stamina, desire, so you=
can't manage yourself the way you used, but this model of skipping everyth= ing and playing slams only doesn't work anymore.=20

Navratilova said he needs to play more, to be match fit.

In retrospect, he had a reasonable chance at FO this year, yet he wasn't pr= epared or was injured entire spring, I guess he gave up on FO even before i=
t started, and was eyeing Wimbledon.
