Serious question. Anyone know why he stopped posting here?

Not sure, but I guess he was too stupid to find a new way to
access Usenet after Google Groups were shut down. Using
Eternal September would have been a good, free option.

Maybe Marc Beckles of the Wilton tennis club in London knows. That's the
club with the angry Fedfans. Iceberg was once jokingly rumoured to be
Marc Beckles. Beckles is a former top 50 GB player.

No, that was not it. He was posting well after the shutoff date.

Court 1, Gracchus, and maybe raja threw in the towel at that point.

Eternal September works well enough now. There is one based in Iceland
called XLned (Dutch) that is good and cheap.

    Whatever I miss him.

It's the absence of an information that's hard to take.

At least for good man bob we know what's going on.

Yes, he's still kickin' all right.

I regret to say that I agree with one of your earlier speculations:
    Iceberg probably went under.

I've seen a couple of cases where long time *older* posters just drop
off the radar screen. In one instance, on a film discussion group on
usenet, some other poster who knew him said that he had died over the
    weekend.

When he set up the "alternate" web-based tennis guessing contest,
he left his name on the WHOIS record for the site. I only
    remember his name was Bob.

I dunno, he seemed relatively serious about moving to Russia to
take advantage of Putin's offer for immigrants. He probably died
in Ukraine somewhere after being conscripted.
