The Northern Ostrobothnia fire department received a report of a
wildfire on Wednesday evening.

The person who reported the fire had spotted a white swan flying towards
a power line in Haapavesi.

The bird caught fire. The falling bird hit the ground and the dry grass
was lit up as well.

rCLWhen the rescue service heroes arrived at the scene, the fire area was approximately 10 x 10 meters. The fire was extinguished and did not
spread furtherrCY, the fire department says.

The swan was killed in the accident.
