Star trek has always been woke, that's how it was envisioned no?

A DEI Enterprise crew to begin with?

Kirk kissing a negress in 1960s to shock everyone?

Spock character promoting race mixing and benifts of being torn between the worlds?

Picard TNG intro changed from "where no man has gone before to no one has gone before" to please women?

Klingons becoming good guys (we defeat our warmongering honour obsessed enemies and civilize them, ie Germany, Japan etc)

Sisko as Obama before Obama and constant bashing of Kardashians who merely love their empire. Kardashians are somewhat mix of fascists and Nazis and Soviets?

Romulans as pseudo Byzantines (Vulcans ancients Greeks, good, Romulans as Byzantine Greeks, or Rhomaoi, bad). The most hateful setup actually as always where medieval Christian Roman empire is falsely names Byzantine (find me their coin in thousand years of their history with Byzantine inscription, no?)

In way, that's inherent bashing of Russians as well, since they're successors to Rhomaoi too.

Positive note is we get to see everyone so we get to see the Jews too, being accurately portrayed, even though later only in jovial and fun way, unlike Ferengi from early TNG.

Also, if Sisko is Obama, then Janeway is successful Hillary and generally female power on board voyager, all strong characters were females. Kim, Neelix and Paris are all beta.

Borg as nowadays silly counterpoint to star wars death star. They have a sphere, we'll use cube? Lol. But interesting and probably best philosophical stuff overall regarding future and tech and biotechnology.

I haven't seen much of enterprise show that was phasing out for me already, I won't say it was bad but it was weird, personally, and most importantly, I certainly haven't seen and I will never even try to watch some new shit where some bitch is yelling at Picard or whatever exist in those new shows that I even don't know how many are there?

Likewise, I didn't like on principle the absurd reboot thing from 2009.

Imagine being such a retard script writer that you can't fill the script in a fantasy timeline?

They could have made it like James bond movies, each movie to stand on its own if necessary, but no, they had to do nonsense.

Also the rebooted movies were generally worse as they progressed or I just became tired from it?

So the thing is, even though present day stuff is unbearable we have to be honest, it's just that it's become unbearable overall but it hasn't deviated from its course, in fact this is exactly where it led and how it's supposed to end.

That's the moral of the story. It's "fun" when you do little woke stuff in a normal, traditional society, it feels edgy, it feels cool. If you're young you feel rebel.

Fast forward 60 years and this is what you get, 60-year old dykes lecturing sound men.

Kids will watch this and assume it's normal?

The best thing in Star Trek is Shatner being disgusted with actual space, and even though people who know it, knew it already, but his message is a powerful one for the masses and a very symbolic one due to his significance and impact.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OTfQVMH5SuI

    Great 4 minute video.

Isn't it ironic that Shatner flew to space thanks to Picard lookalike and a possible clone, which is kinda reminiscent to generations and nexus when two met?

That flight should be and in my mind is the proper end of Star Trek show, it's the final episode, best ending possible.

Isn't Star Trek about perfect future?

A cure for all diseases have been found, humans became best versions of themselves etc. That is the plot?

So how can you suddenly have lesbians after not having them in 10 movies, 500+ episodes etc?

I understand where you're coming from.

In a mirror logic, for the same reason I totally disliked star wars and never like it as a kid.

I felt utopian stuff like Star Trek (or perhaps absolutely dystopian such as terminator) scenario makes sense if we do sci-fi.

I am optimistic, felt good about Star Trek, it was mixed with science stuff, what's universe really like.

I enjoyed also the polar opposites, perhaps terminator, alien. I felt stuff outside of those extremes utopia or dystopia in sci-fi, I felt it was boring. Especially star wars with their wizardry.

However now that I'm older I, perhaps like you, can't take pandering. Star trek is full of it, even the the old ones, let alone new nonsense.

Star wars has pandering too, but at least with star wars, you get the see the emperor and root for him.

    Interesting take. I wouldn't say I disagree.

But still, most problems they faced seemed isolated, exceptions, or deep philosophical issues.

They didn't fight over the major common issues, that was sorted out. The utopian part is/was about general societal order that was accomplished.

In that sense it's not really utopia, it's sustainable practicality, the social sweet spot with highest possible comfort for everyone thanks to technology, naturally, but other than that, there seems to be some sort of societal equilibrium?

    I wouldn't dismiss that as a pure sci-fi.

Chinese or Byzantine civilisation had that to some extent over their history, long lasting empires not fueled by expansion.

But from our perspective it feels utopian.

Well, Major Kira and Lt. Yar gave off major lesbian vibes.

Yes. But back in those days I guess everyone assumed in 24th century they would have found the cure? Or at least they went by don't ask don't tell?

    Another strong vibe.

Yes, I don't really relate to argument that Star Trek was supposed to be
some sort of utopia, and certainly not that distracted from watching
it.... it happened in strange new worlds which were usually far from utopias... and even the times they were, there was often some insidious

Although you didn't really get to see much of this supposed utopia. Every episode a new problem, really the same problems that we have now and have always had. The trappings of a utopia don't cure the human condition. Maybe that was the point.

    Interesting take. I wouldn't say I disagree.

But still, most problems they faced seemed isolated, exceptions, or deep philosophical issues.

In some sense, this milieu sounds a lot like being on "the right side of history".

BTW, what is your take on the concept and current usage in the west of
"being on the right side of history"?

On the topic of the old watchword "don't ask, don't tell" in retrospect
it looks to me like the key to social peace.

Want to bugger your $1,200 pet Nubian goat--your faithful yoga
partner?--so long as it's strictly private, have at it. But the instant
it slips into public awareness, it's auto de fe time.

Once the popular ethos embraced getting in everyone else's face
publicly, starting back with "say it now, and say it loud, I'm black and
I'm proud", and metastasizing into siloed social media of all
    kinds--including RST--we basically atomized society.

Every man for himself, and God against all.

    Another strong vibe.

If someone uses this term and believes it, it allows them to adopt
missionary fervor like a Crusader or Inquisitor.

    And they do.

    Wow, this looks great.https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/2011870781962117613?s=20

    LMFAO

Never cared much for reboots. It's been done already, move on...
